A Solar Ordinance in your Community

Why shall I introduce a Solar Thermal Ordinance in my community?
Greenhouse gas emissions are raising and threatening climate worldwide.
Governments are slowly introducing targets and laws, aiming at reducing human impact on climate. Nevertheless, central governments cannot change the trend, unless actions are undertaken at local level...think globally, act locally!
Solar is a mature and efficient technology, which can effectively contribute to reduction of greenhouse emissions. What is more, solar is cheap. This convinced lots of Local Administrations to introduce Solar Ordinances in the past. Nowadays, all over Europe such legislative provisions are being implemented at national level.
Local Administrations play a crucial role in this process: they can optimize (or introduce, in case no national law exists) STOs, according to local conditions.

Where can I gain information and ask for support?
The ProSTO project aims at providing high quality information about STOs.
First of all, have a look at past experiences. A comprehensive STO database is available online.
Then download our STO tools, read through them and take those hints you think are suitable to your local conditions.
You may even ask our STO helpdesk for support!
Finally, tell us what you are doing. ProSTO will collect information from Local Administrations which are undergoing such processes and spread them though the website.
