Dec 31, 2015 · The problem is that the concrete slab settled and is pitch in. Its about an inch out, i would like to cut and chip the slab in front of the door and then skim coat it. But since it is exterior I’m worried about it blowing apart. I was wondering if anyone has tried grinding down that much concrete.

Ive seen polished concrete showing the aggregate but on my drive I dont want a polished surface, as this would obviously end up like an ice rink when wet. So can this be done just to bring the concrete flat or even with a slight camber?

Dec 12, 2019 · The concrete is above the blocks, unevenly up to 1/4" in some spots. I am installed a cap that will be held by landscaping adhesive. I corrected a 10 section in less than 1/2hr so it isnt that big of a task but my B&D grinder is more of a sander / polisher. I have used the B&D for leveling un even concrete slab lips < 1/2".

Feb 12, 2011 · I may need to do some grinding on a concrete floor to take down a couple of high spots. I looked at a 4 1/2" Makita variable speed angle grinder and a diamond cup wheel for it. I have an old Ryobi angle grinder but wondering if variable speed would be good to control the grinding and the dust collection. The Makita has a bit more power too.

Jun 12, 2008 · The manufacturer says this grinder can remove 1/32" over 350-500 feet per hour. Four-plus hours of grinding sounds like a bit of a slog, but if it turned out well, probably worth it. I got resurfacing (grind, level, epoxy coat) estimates from $4.50 to $7.50 per square foot. Anyone have experience and advice about grinding concrete floors?
